The National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame traces the last one hundred years of the development and history of the Cleveland-style polka from its Slovenian roots to its present day form. Exhibits take visitors on a decade-by-decade journey through Eastern Europe and then the American mining towns where the polka picked up its jazz and country influences.
Artifacts, photos, instruments, and memorabilia tell the stories of past and present polka stars, and displays feature the accordion and costumes of Frank Yankovic, famed American polka star, as well as the accordion of Cleveland's polka king, Johnny Vadnal. A special exhibit focuses on the inductees to the Hall of Fame from the turn of the century to today. Visitors can stop by the museum shop for new and vintage polka recordings or to stock up on traditional polka apparel.
