Visitors interested in presidential history will enjoy the William Howard Taft National Historic Site, dedicated to the only man who served as both Chief Justice and President of the U.S. Visitors will begin their tour at the Taft Education Center, which provides an orientation video and exhibits on the later generations of the Taft family.
A guided tour takes guests through Taft's restored birthplace, which features four period rooms reflecting his boyhood and family life, as well as a series of exhibits detailing Taft's political career. An animatronic figure of Charlie Taft, the president's son, is the centerpiece of the site, and visitors can listen in as he relates family stories.
