Since it's dedication on Christmas Morning 1856, Old St Patrick's Church has remained a pillar to the Chicago community.
A beautiful structure, St Patrick's Church was thankfully one of the few original buildings not to have been consumed by the Great Chicago Fire. When visiting, it's interesting to note how few structures there are in that area are from it's period- most are newer.
During the 1950's, Chicago's first annual St Patrick's Day Parade, now a famous event attended by visitors the world over, was held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the church's opening.
This is a historical landmark, but also very beautiful, a site enjoyable by anyone who appreciates fine art in the form of structure.
The address of Old St Patrick's Church is 700 West Adams Street, Chicago, IL.
