Located northwest of the Lakeview community, Lincoln Square is a small group of neighborhoods offering tree-lined streets, large parks, and its own rapid-transit system that goes to the
Loop and other areas of the city.
The German heritage can still be felt in the architecture and some of the dining options of Lincoln Square. Today there is a wonderful blend of families and professionals. Lincoln Square is home to may newer and trendier restaurants, as well as a large branch of the Chicago Public Library system, the acclaimed Old Town School of Folk Music, a movie theater, grocery stores, and Lincoln Avenue (one of Chicago's diagonal streets). So much is offered here that it is its own little Chicago microcosm, and residents can generally get just what they need all in one place. The neighborhood is full or brick two- and three-flats, as well as many single-family homes, many offering larger lots and some green space.
