During your visit to Chicago, be sure to stop and see the Glessner House Museum, a premier location for the study and appreciation of decorative arts.
The Glessner House was completed in 1887, just a year after its architect, Henry Hobson Richardson, passed away. The museum was designated to be national historic landmark in 1976. It was seen as a symbol of inspiration to Frank Lloyd Wright, who later designed the Robie House.
Be sure to bring your cameras, as the hotel is home to an array of 19th and 20th century art objects and furniture. The Glessner House holds over 6,000 amazing artifacts, including everything from vases and tiles, to silver and other decorative objects.
