Veterans Day at Brookfield Zoo, Brookfield, IL

Celebrate Veteran's Day when you come and visit Brookfield Zoo where you can join the staff for a commemorative wreath laying ceremony to honor the men and women who have served our nation. Visit Roosevelt Fountain for a patriotic ceremony featuring the placing of a memorial wreath amidst the singing of the National Anthem as well as a visit by the zoo's bald eagle. Guests are encouraged to bring items to the event which can be donated to our troops serving overseas. Donations will be handled by Operation Stars and Stripes. Brookfield Zoo is located in suburban Brookfield, IL. which is just 20 minutes south of downtown Chicago. The zoo is managed by the Chicago Zoological Society and covers an area of over 216 acres. Brookfield Zoo is home to more than 3,000 animals, including 450 different species. The zoo is home to a number of unique exhibits including an indoor dolphin exhibit, a butterfly garden featuring over 400 butterflies and an indoor rain forest simulation called Tropic World.
