Fiesta para Todos at Brookfield Zoo, Brookfield, IL

Every September, the Brookfield Zoo in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with its "Fiesta Para Todos," or "Party For All." This two-day weekend celebration is open to the public and features Latino-themed music, dancing, food, and animal exhibits. These special exhibits give visitors the opportunity to meet animals that are native to Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean. Past animals at the event included boa constrictors, Mexican fruit bats, bottlenose dolphins and spider monkeys - but new and different animals are featured every year.

The zoo also invites local Latino bands, singer/songwriters, dancers, and food vendors to attend the event. Kids and their families who come to the zoo during Fiesta Para Todos will be able to sample cuisine and culture from over 20 Latin countries, something that you can't usually do while at the zoo. Admission to this event is free with the zoo admission fee, and this festival usually happens during a weekend in mid-September. Zoo hours vary depending on the time of year, so please contact the Brookfield Zoo directly for specific dates and times of this year's event.
