Chicago Activities
Departure Point
Let the panoramic views of Chicago's famous lakefront take your breath away during this exploration of the city by water.
Chicago is a city that has it all — from a variety of architecture to zoos and theme parks, everyone will have an unforgettable time enjoying Chicago's activities. No visit to Chicago is complete without paying a visit to its famous landmarks. Have you always wanted to visit the Sears Tower, Soldier Field, the famous riverfront, the yacht harbors and Shedd Aquarium? Then a guided tour of Chicago is the perfect activity for you! With so many choices of tours, it might be hard to settle on just one. The Skyline Boat Tour features a view of the city from the lakefront, while the Architectural River Tour takes you past 40 landmarks by famous architects. If you'd rather keep your feet on terra firma, you'll enjoy the 2-hour South Shore Tour by motorcoach, or the North Side Chicago Tour. For those who want the best of both worlds, the Land and Lake Tour features a combination of sights from both motorcoach and yacht. After seeing many famous Chicago landmarks on your narrated tour, it's time to feast your eyes on something else Chicago is famous for: Zoos. Lincoln Park Zoo, one of the oldest in the United States, has no admission fee. It combines historical architecture dating to 1868 with modern animal facilities. In addition to seeing the animals, visitors enjoy taking a spin on the SBC Endangered Species Carousel, or gliding across the lagoon in a swan boat. The other Chicago area zoo is in Brookfield, just west of downtown. With 2,000 animals living on 216 acres, the Brookfield Zoo is a favorite of all ages. Visit the Children's Petting Zoo to touch the animals, experience a simulated tropical storm in Tropic World and then hop a ride on the Motor Safari Tram to give your feet a rest. In addition to all these quality exhibits, Brookfield Zoo is famous for its use of natural barriers instead of cages. What's left to do in Chicago after you've already seen and done so much? Well, lots.... But the next activity on your to-do list should be Six Flags Great America. Just north of Chicago in the suburb of Gurnee, this theme park will thrill you with 13 roller coasters like Superman's Ultimate Flight, the looping D'j? Vu, and the twisting Raging Bull. Six Flags also has a variety of shows, an IMAX Theater and shopping and dining. Whether you're visiting Chicago for the first time or the hundredth time, you're guaranteed to enjoy all the activities just waiting for you. A Chicago experience will definitely redefine your destination expectations! |
