Experience the Capture: Behind the Scenes of the U505
Step into a piece of history when you go behind the scenes at the Museum of Science & Industry to enjoy a private tour of the U505 - the only German submarine captured during World War II. This incredible experience begins before the museum opens as you are treated to breakfast while hearing a U505 expert provide information about the history and story behind the vessel that was captured by the U.S. Navy.
After the lecture, you'll be able to explore the U505 exhibit, including boarding the submarine, and perusing more than 200 artifacts, radio transmissions, videos, and personal stories about the capture of the U505. You'll also learn about the codebooks and secret documents retrieved from the vessel, and how those documents played a role in codebreaking by Allied forces.
