The Wang Jiang Lou Tower, a historic red building, is located in the beautiful River Viewing Park. Wang Jiang Lou overlooks a historic well called Xue Tao Well, named after a young female poet named Xue Tao who was born in the year 770. As the legend of Xue Tao is told, Xue used water from the well to make her own special paper to write her poems on. Then later in the Ming Dynasty, a workshop was established on the site of the Wang Jiang Lou to produce her special paper for others to enjoy. The well remains in place today as a beautiful attraction. In 1664, a stone tablet was placed over the well, with her named etched into it.
Towards the other end of the River Viewing Park stands a beautiful statue of Xue Tao made of white marble, near the bamboo forest. The park features over 150 different types of bamboo, including a unique variety of square bamboo. The bamboo forest serves to provide plenty of shade in the summer months as well as create a relaxing and serene atmosphere. Park workers have used the bamboo creatively to provide illusions of scenery for the guests to enjoy. The park also features large stones that have been hand-crafted into peaches, watermelons, flowers, and other organic creations, which enhance the natural beauty of the park.
The park is located close to the city, making this a popular destination for people to relax and enjoy a stroll or a cup of tea.
