Walnut Street Bridge, the world's longest pedestrian bridge, is a favorite place for both visitors and residents of Chattanooga. Built in 1890, this bridge spans a half mile across the Tennessee River. Vehicles have not been on the bridge since 1978, and now the bridge is a renowned pedestrian walkway. From the bridge, visitors will have spectacular views of Coolidge Park, the
Tennessee Aquarium, and Chattanooga's
Riverfront. Many use the bridge not only for great strolls and fantastic views but also for weddings and special events.
