Tennessee Temple University (TTU) is a private Independant Baptist institution of higher education located in downtown Chattanooga. This school was founded in 1946 and originally began as a two-year college and Bible school. Since its establishment, Tennessee Temple has become an accredited four-year and graduate school offering a wide range of academic and ministry programs. The student body of TTU is 468, and the student faculty ratio is 15 to 1. The university has men's basketball, baseball, and soccer along with women's volleyball and basketball, all named the Crusaders.
