Lookout Mountain is home to Chattanooga's most popular attractions, Ruby Falls(largest underground waterfall), Rock City (see seven states), and the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway(America's most amazing mile). Lookout Mountain is a great family outing, but be prepared to spend all day looking at the sights, enjoying the view, and walking through the rock formations. They are considered to be among the nation's most beautiful one-of-a-kind vacation spots.
It also has a Battle of Chattanooga historical park where artillery hailed cannon fire on the city during the Civil War. There is a museum on the mountainside dedicated to this historical event just a few paces away from the parks entrance for convenient follow-up information.
