Planned from Thursday to Saturday, September 17-20, will be a series of exciting and fantastic family friendly events for the whole family. Come and enjoy the festivities starting with The Chickamauga Battlefield Tour from ten in the morning until two in the afternoon on Thursday.
You and your family can participate in a driving tour led by rangers as you explore Chickamauga while being told by a tour guide details of the second bloodiest battle of the American Civil War. Hear about life before the war on the Chickamauga Battlefield at 6:30 p.m.
Learn the political and social views of local and why cotton was not king. Check out the 'Failure in the Saddle and Minty at Jay's Mill' at one in the afternoon near the site of the Chickamauga Battle. Listen as Christopher Young the park ranger will examine the consequences of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest's failure to screen the Army of the Tennessee movements that afternoon on September 18, 1863.
