Great Aunt Stella Center, Charlotte, NC
Located in a historic church, the Great Aunt Stella Center was once Charlotte's cultural and community center, offering a full array of concerts, lectures, workshops, conferences, and classes. The Stella Center's programming has since been discontinued, but visitors can still view the Sanctuary, which was designed and constructed in 1914. With seats for four hundred people, the Sanctuary, with its sweeping curves, wrap-around balcony, dark wooden pews, working pipe organ, and beautiful stained glass windows, offers visitors a place of peaceful relaxation and meditation.
