Enjoy a historical look at the military pride of South Carolina with the Citadel Museum. Located on the campus of The Citadel, the museum offers permanent exhibits that highlight military, academic, athletic, and social aspects of cadet life since 1842. Cadet uniforms, arms, photographs, memorabilia and biographies bring the past to life with the present during the self-guided tours. One favorite exhibit is a display of Citadel class rings from 1895 to present, and a memorial book honors former cadets who lost their lives in battle since World War II.
The archives at the museum include more than 300 artifacts that include personal papers, letters, diaries, reports, speeches, publications, and more. The campus of The Citadel is open to visitors, so after perusing the museum, head out on a stroll of the beautiful campus. Special events, including athletic competitions, are popular with the entire community as well.
