Head to the Grits Capital of the World for the spectacular World Grits Festival in quaint St. George. Located just an hour inland from Charleston, this three-day annual event includes some of the most fantastic festival events in the country. One popular event is the Rolling in the Grits contest, which sees contestants spend a few seconds wallowing in a kiddie pool filled with grits. How is the winner determined? The person who has the most weight in grits wins, so you'll see plenty of folks filling up bagging pockets and big hats for a hilarious competition!
