You'll travel by boat to Capers Island, where you will get a briefing on kayak techniques and safety before starting your leisurely journey through the winding tidal creeks of the salt marsh. Activity is approximately 3 hours.

Capers Island Sunset Dolphin Discovery Cruise

Join a local naturalist focused on a search and discovery mission for the fascinating bottlenose dolphin and loggerhead sea turtle, and experience the natural beauty of Charleston, South Carolina's barrier islands and surrounding salt marshes. Bottlenose dolphins are a common resident of the salt marshes and inlets behind the barrier islands. As you observe the dolphins feeding, playing, or simply cruising around in their native environment, you will learn all about their social behavior, feeding habits, and much more. Also learn about the life history of threatened loggerhead sea turtle which you can often catch sight of during the summer months. Cruise is approximately 2.5 hours.

Though renowned for its stunning architecture, distinctive Southern cuisine and matchless beauty and charm, the heart of the Lowcountry, for those who truly know it, lies in its barrier islands and back creek salt marshes. Venture to Capers Island, the closest untouched barrier island to Charleston. We will cruise through winding tidal creeks to find diverse wildlife unique to this salt marsh environment. Common sightings include bottlenose dolphin, osprey, pelicans, herons, egrets, and more. Cruise is approximately 3.5 hours.

Capers Island All-Inclusive

Embark on an unforgettable adventure to Capers Island, where you'll enjoy a guided naturalist tour of this hidden gem, crabbing clinics, kayaking adventures, surf fishing, and more. You will be taken by boat through salt marsh creeks to a more remote end of Capers Island, away from other people and activity. You will then be taken on a guided tour by a naturalist to the bone yard beach. After your tour you are free to take part in any of the wonderful activities that Caper Island offers. Equipment and instructors are on hand to give you the experience of kayaking, crabbing, and surf fishing. There is also a great area for swimming. Spending the day on Capers Island allows you the opportunity to enjoy all of the great activities this area offers. Activity is approximately 5 hours.
