Welstar to Host Art Show Featuring Works of Captain Steve Sparrow
Welstar will be opening it's doors for their premier art show this September. Welstar owner, Mahara Ashlie is pleased to welcome the artwork of Captain Steve Sparrow. The exhibit opens with a reception. Welstar patrons will be able to view Captain Sparrow's art throughout the spa's common areas and treatment rooms. Captain Sparrow was born in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1951 and has enjoyed being an art teacher as well as sculpting with metal. In 1969 Captain Sparrow moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts and became a fisherman while still crafting metal sculpture in his spare time. He then became romantically involved with an artist who encouraged him to express himself in paint. His oil paintings are now collected by patrons in London, Alaska, California, Florida, Cape Cod and the Islands and are known by his expressive use of color. In 2001, Captain Sparrow was awarded first place in the Orleans Art Show. Captain Sparrow feels his art is a joy and that his work brightening up many homes. Welstar is pleased to showcase Captain Sparrow's work at their premier art showing of the year and welcomes patrons of the spa to enjoy the viewing.
