Outdoor Activities in Cape Cod

If you're looking for a place to spend some time outdoors, then Cape Cod is the destination for you. Whether it's golfing, swimming, sunning or hiking, the Cape is the perfect place to do it. The clean air and beautiful scenery create a wonderful background for all outdoor activities.

Offshore:

Enjoy some time on the water by going on a Whale Watch. The narrated cruise takes you out onto the water where you are guaranteed a whale sighting. Enjoy the ocean air as you learn everything you wanted to know about these amazing creatures.

Landlubbers:

If you would rather spend your time on solid land, head on out to Brewster to visit Moby Dick Farms where you can mount up and take a guided trail ride on horseback. It's the perfect way to experience the beauty and nature that the wooded Cape areas have to offer.

The Cape Cod National Seashore is a must-see when you are visiting the area. The Seashore encompasses over 43,000 acres of shoreline and upper landscape and is home to 40 miles of sprawling sandy beaches and historic buildings and lighthouses. The vast area offers unlimited hiking opportunities as well as swimming and sunbathing.

One of the favorite beaches on the seashore is Kalmus Beach located in Hyannis. The beach offers easy access and scenic tranquility.

At White Cedar Swamp Trail you can take a refreshing hike on among the elevated boardwalk that winds through a swamp of Atlantic white cedars, red maples and black and white oaks.

Activities:

Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is also a wonderful place to spend the day outside. There sanctuary is home to 750 acres of marshes, coastal dunes and cedar swamp with miles of nature trails. There are also lectures and guided tours available to visitors.

If golfing is your thing, the Cape offers excellent golfing opportunities. Holly Ridge Golf Club features excellent golfing that is tailored to women, seniors and beginners. Offering a classic New England par 3, the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable.

Mini golf is available too, for those who find traditional golf too... well, traditional. Visit Cape Cod Storyland Golf in Hyannis and play a few rounds over the two acres of playing surface. This gem is considered Cape Cod's largest mini-golf course.
