Many times when people go on vacation to Cancun, Mexico, they go for specific reasons. In fact, many people specifically go to Cancun to see the Zona Arqueologica de Tulum (The Mayan Ruins).
When it comes to the Tulum (Mayan Ruins), it is one of the most visited spots near Cancun. Not only is it one of the most toured spots, but it is also considered to be one of the most prominent archeological sites of the entire Yucatan peninsula. In fact, Tulum is noted to be sitting on the edge of a cliff; which offers a very beautiful view of the Caribbean. Along with have a wonderful view of the ocean; it also has its own beach along with a very impressive archaeological area that's open for touring. However, the major point of the site is the construction of the ancient city that dates back to 1200-1400 A.D.; as well as many of the buildings styles. In fact, some of the most looked at buildings are the City Square and the Temple of the Descending Gods.
The Tulum Ruins are not actually in Cancun, Mexico, but they are in Quintana Roo, Mexico; which is 130 kilometers from Cancun. However, no matter how far one has to travel to see the Tulum Ruins, it is worth it. In fact, many people visit the site because they have heard how beautiful it was; especially how close it was built by the sea. Upon visiting the Tulum Ruins, you may take a tour where you can learn of the history.
