Yamamoto in Cancun, Mexico
Among the sights and sounds of Cancun are various restaurants and
diners that cater to tourist and those native to the resort town.
Tourists are prone to stay in the more popular areas where restaurant
prices may be a little higher and the food a little less than
admirable. Though if you are ready and able to venture out of the
tourism sphere there is a treasury of relatively unknown restaurants
that are guaranteed to please and delight.
Yamamoto is just one of these places. Yamamoto is the oldest Japanese
restaurant in Cancun and has a charm and history that is unique to the
area. Since the restaurant is a distance away from the populated resort
area, the prices are far more reasonable that what would be offered in
other restaurants. Yamamoto features a menu specialized in Asian and
Japanese cuisine. Patrons can enjoy the traditional delicacies prepared
by knowledgeable chefs. The menu is reasonably priced and the portions
are more than fair. Rice, soup and teppanyaki are offered along with
other items. Teppanyaki refers to any Japanese cuisine grilled on an
iron griddle, most often steak and an assortment of vegetables. There
is even a sushi bar where patrons can watch their chosen sushi entrees
prepared before being served to them.
Yamamoto is a wonderful hidden treasure among the bustle of Cancun. For
those tourists that want to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine in a
relaxed atmosphere, Yamamoto is the place to go. Definitely a hidden
treasure, this restaurant is a must for visitors that enjoy Japanese
cuisine.
