Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo in Cancun, MX
Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo is a higher education institution located in Cancun, Mexico as well as being one of their recent additions to their list of universities. It's part of a network of Anahuac universities administered and grouped by the 'Legion of Christ's" religious congregation. Founded by Martial priest Michael, this and other universities that are part of the network are located in Mexico, Chile, Italy and the United States. Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo has provided contests where the students can do certain type of documentation in their programs and are offered scholarships in courses of studies they are applying for in the next two periods of study. First place provides a 100% scholarship while second place gives 60% and third place gives 40%. It can be used as payment for inscription and colegiaturas and can only be used in a course of study that is offered at the university.
Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo also features special programs that can help the students as well as members of the community. One of their programs recently completed was the "Fulfilling a Desire" contest or program. Through the united efforts of the engineering students and the educational office staff, they were able to "fulfill a desire" or dream of a small boy on his birthday. The desire was for the boy to have a bicycle. Through the great efforts of students and staff, they were able to come up with three bicycles, which were all given away. Another program called "Traditional Altars" was held and was actually a contest for students of degree where the presents were different styles and cultures. These types of efforts help to keep the students interested in their studies and working together.
