Sushi Itto in Cancun, QR is located within the notable hotel zone of the city and inside the Forum by the Sea Shopping Center. As the shopping center name suggests, the sea is right next door and makes for a nice atmosphere in which to shop and of course, dine as well. The establishment is well-lit with clean lines, much what you would expect in an Asian restaurant. And because of its location, you can easily eat a meal and then spend some time meandering leisurely through the mall peeking into boutiques and such.
The Japanese cuisine served here is rather traditional although it does borrow some western ways in presentation and mixture of ingredients. This makes the food at Sushi Itto have a more universal appeal for those who have not acclimated to traditional, straight-up Japanese food. When you study the menu here, you will discover quite a bit of variety in regards to the soups, appetizers, sushi and more.
The Misushoru soup is quite tasty and light so that you have plenty of room for the rice and a roll of your choice such as a Philadelphia or California roll with salmon or mazago skin. When you are asked what rice you want, try the yakimeshi fried rice as it wonderfully complements the rolls. The sashimi is good as is the edamame for an appetizer or you can be adventurous and try one of the monthly specials.
Sushi Itto is quite informal and the pricing is middle of the road but the Japanese cuisine here is tasty enough to warrant it. Be sure to leave room for a brownie for dessert!
