Mikado in Cancun, QR is a tasty, exclusive treat. While housed within the CasaMagna Marriott in the Mexican paradise of Cancun, you won't find Mexican food on the menu but there is plenty of Asian cuisine with a Japanese and Thai flair. You will find the basics in Japanese food like sushi, noodles, rice and soup flavored with soy sauce, miso or dashi here at Mikado. Thai food is often a blend of several flavors of sweet, sour, hot, salty and occasionally bitter. These blends are often from the variety of spices used in the food. You can choose from a variety of both Thai and Japanese appetizers like satay, grilled dumplings or kushiages. Sushi is an option if you do enjoy the occasional raw fish like salmon or tuna.
The tempura is great here as is the Pad Thai. The various entrees with seafood are quite fresh and tasty like the shrimp curry or even one of the soups with calamari or shrimp. The vegetables are grilled and seasoned to perfection and wonderfully complement the meals. Desserts are somewhat traditional with caramel flan, tiramisu, tres leches cake or a few chocolate concoctions. For a truly Mikado experience, end the meal with an after dinner drink.
