Marine Turtle Observation
This unique tour gives you an up-close look at the phenomenon of turtles laying their eggs on the sandy shores. Your tour begins when your bilingual tour guide picks you up from your Cancun area hotel and takes you south through the Mexican countryside to the beaches near the Tulum Mayan ruins, an ecological preservation area known as the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. Once you arrive at the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, you take a short nature hike through the darkened area to the beach where you can view turtles crawling out of the beach and across the sand to lay their eggs. Starting in July, you may also be able to glimpse newly born baby turtles make their back out to the sea. You will be able to "adopt"' a baby turtle, giving it a name and sending it off into the sea to begin its life.
Your tour guide is a professional biologist or naturalist, well-educated in the migratory patterns of sea turtles, and he or she will share with you a wide range of interesting facts and tidbits about the process. This tour is great for adults and children alike to view this magnificent natural event. You are sure to have a great time on the Marine Turtle Observation tour!
