Get a bird's eye view of scenic Calgary, Alberta from atop the city's most recognizable landmarks, the Calgary Tower!

The spring and fall months bring Calgary's off-season, and along with it fewer crowds and lodging discounts. There are a number of attractions that are open year-round for tourists visiting at this time of year; and of course the city itself never closes, so you can enjoy the architecture and atmosphere no matter when you choose to visit.

For Everyone...

  • Calgary Zoo. The zoo is open year round, so no matter when you visit, you can see the animals that make the Calgary Zoo their home. There are over 900 animals representing over 260 different species. You'll see mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, fish and more.
  • Downtown Calgary. No matter what time of year you visit, the city never closes. A trip through the downtown area will bring you the sights of modern buildings mixed with historical architecture and a city with a personality of its own. There's plenty of shopping and dining opportunities downtown as well.

For the Scenery Lover...

  • Calgary Tower. The beauty of the area knows no seasonal boundaries. Calgary Tower is one of Calgary's most popular attractions and offers a year-round panoramic view of Calgary and the Canadian Rocky Mountains. You can enjoy a warm meal in the revolving restaurant and spend some time shopping the gift shops located there as well.

  • Banff Gondola. Another year round attraction, Banff Gondola will take you on a glass-enclosed gondola ride to the Sulphur Mountain Summit. Enjoy the scenery during the ride and then be amazed by the awe-inspiring sights from the observation terraces when you arrive at the Summit

For the History Buff...

  • Fort Calgary. This year-round museum takes you back in time to experience the events that make up Calgary's history. You'll see exhibits that feature the environment, lifestyles and events that make up Calgary's past.

  • Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. Don't let the name fool you, this is a serious and educational attraction. Open year-round, this attraction allows you to learn about the history of the Blackfoot Indians and see the largest preserved buffalo jump that is known to exist anywhere. The attraction was designated a World Heritage Site in 1981 by UNESCO. Other World Heritage Sites include the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge, so you know how special this attraction really is.

The calgary tower is the best tower i have ever seen. It has many colors and it is very tall. The colors are very nice and the colors are Red,Grey, and Black. When I went to Calgary I went to the tower and said 'wow' that is very pretty and nice I want to go inside it but I could not. Next year I hope I could go to the tower but I want to go inside. That is why I like the Calgary tower
