As you pulled out of the Bar U Ranch of Longview, Alberta, you wished that your car were instead a horse-covered wagon headed out to pioneer the vast lands. As part of your Calgary vacation, this activity gave you the chance to escape into the wonderful Canadian countryside. Built in 1882, the Bar U lives on with ranch hands keeping the daily activities of the ranch active. You rode by wagon through a large portion of the ranch and got off at different reenactments that interested you, like the blacksmithing shop. After spending a whole day at the Bar-U Ranch, you continued on your Calgary vacation with a new appreciation of your modern comforts. But it sure would be fun to have a horse-drawn wagon...
