Sergio Bustamante Gallery in Cabo San Lucas is a artist shop filled with small and large pieces of the work of Sergio Bustamante. The Gallery is named after Sergio. This gallery carries more than just a few pieces of his work, but carries many small items such as earrings or large art pieces to add to the décor of your home. Some of his favorite inspirational ideas are symbols of the sun, moons and heavens. Much of his work is made with these as the theme. Don't plan to get through this gallery in a short amount of time as there are so many interesting pieces, you'll want a few hours to browse through everything. Many feel that his pieces are on the expensive side, but they are not completely outrageous.
Sergio Bustamante was born in Culiacan, Mexico, but lived in the area of Guadalajara most of his life since he was a young child. He studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara, but eventually left architecture when he discovered his passion and talent for arts and crafts.
Sergio Bustamante does his work in many different Medias, but paper mache is his favorite and you can view many of these inspirational pieces at his gallery. He started with paintings and paper mache figures, with his first exhibit being in 1966 at the Galeria Misracha in Mexico City. He then began expanding his talent towards over kinds of arts and crafts. In the 1970s, he began creating wood and bronze sculptures, most of them with animal themes. He then began putting his talent towards furniture designs, which has turned into a huge success. His talents have expanded a lot through the years, with his gallery carrying a little of everything he has created.
