You've planned this vacation for so long, and now the time is here. Imagine laying on the beach watching the waves at Playa Barco Varado in Mexico. Playa Barco Varado in Cabo San Lucas, BS is one of the more popular beaches in the area. It got its name in memory of a Japanese freighter that crashed up against the wall of rocks here. There are still remains and remnants of the original wreck. Tourists walk the edges of the water looking at some of the wreckage pieces still laying around.
Although access to the beach comes by way of the entrance to the Cabo del Sol hotel, there is still a specific parking area for the beach. If you are driving, you can rest assured that your car will be safe, while you relax or swim. Most of the people that frequent this beach are guests of the hotel. It's a great place for a picnic or family outing as it's quiet without a lot of rowdy kids. If weather gets bad or chilly, you can always go inside the hotel for a bite to eat.
Swimming is fun and relaxing during most parts of the day, however, the undercurrents have a tendency to become strong so caution should always be used when swimming here, specifically with weak swimmers and children. Unless everyone in your group knows how to swim, they shouldn't be swimming in this beach.
Playa Barco Varado is a fun place for families. Many people from the states that have traveled and spent time there felt it was a wonderful area and plan to return at another time.
