Cartes in San Lucas, Mexico
Cartes in San Lucas, BS as in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico is the Spanish equivalent of a curio shop filled with a little bit of everything. Housed within the Plaza Bonita Mall along Lazaro Cardenas near the marina, you can expect to find a veritable treasure trove of goodies with a distinct Mexican influence. The façade is rather unassuming but the windows give you a good peek at what is in store for you.
If you want to take home some pottery and glassware reminiscent of the area, then Cartes is the place to go. There are some beautiful representations of glassware that is made from artisans in the local area as well as brightly colored pottery and ceramics painted by hand. You will find them in unusual styles that reflect the Mayan culture here or distinct Mexican flair as well.
You may also find a number of wood products at Cartes as well. Some could be picture frames with inlaid tile or other wood pieces while others may be larger pieces of furniture crafted by local woodworkers. Inlaid wood is represented in quite a few wood pieces here. Pewter is popular here as well in figurines, jewelry, vases and other knickknacks.
Cartes is a place that offers affordable locally crafted works of art in a variety of mediums which would be perfect for your souvenir and gift shopping expeditions. Be sure to check it out when you are in Cabo San Lucas. It is between the main street and the marina right behind a nightclub called Waves. You'll be glad you stopped in.
