Established in June, 1994, Explore and More is a unique museum devoted to children that regards its vast array of interactive exhibits as not just innovative play things, but also as a tremendous learning experience for children between the ages of just born to ten years.
At the museum, there's plenty to keep even the most distracted of children absorbed while also offering a number of activities for older children and the parents who bring them here. At the construction exhibit which features a 12' by 12' building area, you can watch your child attend his first lesson in construction by helping to build the house, right from the foundations to the plumbing system. Children can even unravel the mysterious workings of electricity by learning how a flick of a switch can make a light bulb flash and also solve intriguing puzzles where they can lay blocks to create famous buildings from around the world.
Your little ones can also learn about where the food on their plates really comes from, right from when and how it is grown and even fish for some fresh catch from the pond! They can even explore an apple tree or sell their food at the farm stand. They can also gain their first experiences in the world of international cuisine at the International Dinner and learn the nuances of the food pyramid.
Then they can head for an exciting adventure all over the world. From Mexico to South Africa and even Vietnam, the Culture Corner houses an array of exhibits that are designed to educate visitors about the similarities and disparities in the different cultures across the world. There is also the section on brain teasers that consists of games and challenges with a wide range of difficulty levels to involve participants of every age.
Birthday parties and Explore and More are affairs to remember. From a wide selection of themes which include Butterflies and Flowers for your little angel and Construction for the young and adventurous mind, to unusual origami invitations for your guests and even free decorations to lighten up your party space, Explore and More ensures that your a-celebration will be a one-of-a-kind event.
You can visit the museum from 10 am to 5 pm, Wednesday through Saturday and 12 noon to 5 pm on Sundays.
