Artifacts that span over 100 years of family history fill this historic museum, once home to the author of the Little House on the Prairie series. Born in 1867, Laura Ingalls moved from Wisconsin to Missouri in her late twenties after marrying Almanzo Wilder.  Together they settled their roots on the Rocky Ridge Farm near Mansfield, Missouri, building their own home and a prosperous farm.  Laura wrote late in her life.  At the age of 65 she published the first of nine manuscripts for the "Little House" books, all of which were written in this home.

Located 81 miles from Branson, this museum is in its original condition and has never been restored.  Laura's daughter, Rose Wilder Lane, was also a successful writer, journalist, and a big part of this home.  Her belongings, writings, and other items are on display as well.  Enjoy the history and unique stories behind this an energetic and talented author, Laura Wilder.

Customer Reviews
My visit to Laura's Home in Mansfield, Missouri.
My visit was the best. I grew up watching all of the Little House shows and I read all her books. Her home was so peaceful and beautiful. I truly felt like she was there. I will definately be returning for another visit.
