Founded in 1904, Hollister is a historical, fascinating town in Taney County.
During the early 1900's, along with the first paved road and iron bridge, Hollister also experienced it's first growth boom. With WH Johnson and JW Blankenship at the stead, the first fully developed street was structured- one fashioned in the style of Elizabethan style homes.
Johnson's ambition was to create an English village in his little town, one that would attract visitors from the world over. Now hosting grape carnivals and boasting of a spot on the National Register of Historical Sites, Johnson's wish seems to have been completed in this fun, visitor-friendly town.
