Memorial Day Remembrace at Springfield National Cemetery

If you want to remember your loved ones or just those that have lost their lives, on Memorial Day then why not go to Springfield National Cemetery for the Memorial day Remembrance. The cemetery flies its National flag half mast on this day to mark respect for those that are being remembered. There is a section in the cemetery which was established for those that died serving the confederacy and now veterans are allowed to be buried in this section of the cemetery. This would be a good place to visit to learn about who is buried there, what battles they died in and to think about the amount of men and women who have given their lives for the country. There are a selection of memorials at the cemetery which remember those that have died serving their country. Some of for unknown soldiers and others to remember particularly outstanding figures such as quite a few Medal of Honor recipients. There are also plaques and other similar things remembering groups of people who died in various battles. The graves all have flags put on them on Memorial day and they are particularly memorable figures buried in the cemetery that people may wish to specifically visit. This is a great place to come on Memorial day as it is full of history and will really provide the right atmosphere for the occasion allowing you to remember those unknown people that died for the country as well as those that perhaps you knew personally or were members of your family.
