Even though the North battles the South throughout the show, everyone ends up winning with Dixie Stampede.

You'd be hard pressed to find a Scrooge in Branson at this time of the year: All of Branson gets caught up in the Ozark Mountain Christmas. Starting November 1st, the festivities, which include lighting displays, festivals and special holiday shows, continue through December 31st.

A key component of Ozark Mountain Christmas is the Branson Area Festival of Lights. Visitors to the Branson area will find over five million lights shimmering across the city and countryside. The highlight of the Lights Festival is the two-mile stretch of Branson Hills Parkway, bedecked with over 500,000 lights, a nativity scene, a Victorian Christmas Scene, sailboat races. You'll find illuminated reindeer leaping over the parkway along with animated displays.

Leading the special holiday shows and events are the Radio City Christmas Rockettes in their final year in Branson (10/31 - 12/6). There's the Dolly Parton Dixie Stampede Christmas (10/29 -12/30), the Shoji Tabuchi Christmas Show (11/1 - 12/14), and the Hughes Brothers Old Fashioned Christmas Show (11/1 - 1/1). Other Christmas performances include: Andy Williams, the Lennon Brothers, and Country Tonite. And Branson's oldest theme park, Silver Dollar City celebrates the holidays from 11/8 - 12/28.

Nothing takes the chill out of December weather like relaxing next to the massive stone fireplace at Chateau on the Lake. A pampered stay at a luxury resort makes a great present, and Branson offers several options: beyond Chateau on the Lake, you can choose a stay at the Lodge of the Ozarks or the Radisson Hotel. The well-appointed Holiday Hills Condo Resort is a perfect spot for a holiday home away from home.

According to the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, about 1.5 million people include the Ozark Mountain Christmas in their holiday plans. It's doubtful you'll hear a "Bah Humbug" out of any of them.

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show - Branson, MO
We absolutely loved this show, it was different, classy and down to earth at the same time, however we would have loved to see Dolly in person.

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show - Branson, MO
This show was excellent to take the grandchildren to. What an experience this was for them! I have told family and friends already that this show was absolutely the best to take kids to. We have twin grandaughters who are 7 years old and their sister who is 5 years old. We would do this again.
