Located in the beautiful New England seacoast village of Plymouth, Plymouth Rock welcomes you to come take a glimpse at Massachusetts most famous boulder that is subject to centuries of legends.
However, one should not be disappointed when they do not find an enormous mountain of a boulder. The rock is only a few feet wide, about ten feet long and mostly submerged in sand. It has slowly disintegrated through the years of being moved and tourist chipping it away for souvenirs before it was enclosed by an iron fence. According to the legend, when pilgrims first came upon the great nation, they actually stepped off the Mayflower right onto Plymouth Rock as they made their way to the new lives that lay before them.
The Plimoth Plantation Tour is your chance to step back in time, as this "living" museum recreates life as it was in the 17th century when the new world was being discovered.
