See the home that inspired Louisa May Alcott's classic, Little Women. Orchard house, owned and operated by the Louisa May Alcott Memorial Association, a non-profit organization, founded in 1911.
This was the Alcott family's most permanent home, and they lived here from 1858 to 1877. Louisa wrote Little Women right in this house at her very own desk, built especially for her by her father. No major structural changes have been made since the family lived here. Little Women's setting was created in this very house, so guests today comment that going through this house is like travelling through the book!
