Dedicated to preserving, conserving and accurately interpreting the accomplishments and appropriations of African Americans in New England from the Colonial period through the 19th century. Some of the exciting exhibits going on currently is the Soul Cinema exhibit, which traces the notables in films and filmmaking during the 20th century. Featured in this travelling display are early African-American film posters, paying tribute to such greats as Oscar Micheaux, Lena Horne, Bill Robinson, Clarence Muse, Dorothy Dandridge and Paul Robeson.
