Logan International Airport ranks 19th in the country and 35th in the world in terms of passenger volume, with numbers in excess of 22.7 7 million annual passengers. The airport requires 2,400 acres along the
Boston Harbor on the east side of the city. Logan features fourteen miles of taxi way and five passenger terminals, each of which has its own ticketing, baggage claim and ground transportation.
Thirty-nine airlines - including eight major domestic airlines, 18 international airlines and 13 regional airlines - fly into and out of Logan International Airport each day. The massive airport also has its own State Police troop, a Fire-Rescue Unit, and a non-denominational chapel.
