Presidents Day Celebration: George Washington's Birthday at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA

If you're looking to spend this President's Day weekend doing something unique and family oriented, look no further than Old Sturbridge Village, in Sturbridge Massachusetts. Honor General George Washington like New Englanders of the 1830s did, by baking a Washington cake, learning period dancing and hairdressing, and attending a stylish ball. Your kids will be kept busy with outdoor activities like ice skating (be sure to bring your own skates) and sledding, using early 19th century sleds. Sleigh rides through the Common are a great way to tour the grounds.
President's Day festivities go for the whole February vacation school week (in 2010 from the  the 13th to the 21st). General admission fees apply, which can be purchased at the door, and the celebration begins at 9:30am and continues until 4pm. Though not usually open on winter Mondays, this week is an exception which is made even more special by a romantic reading of the love letters of John and Abigail Adams.
