Christmas by Candlelight at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA
Celebrate Christmas with your family in a unique way by attending Christmas by Candlelight at the Old Sturbridge Village located in Sturbridge, MA.
This event will allow you to see where many of our Christmas traditions have come from as you will celebrate the holiday season just like you would have during the early 19th century. You will get to be a part of many different activities like caroling around the village, enjoying gingerbread and roasted chestnuts, taking a sleigh ride, and you will even get to dance traditional dances as well along with enjoy a puppet show. Some of the different things you will learn is why fruitcake and roasted chestnuts became a part of the holiday, the origin on the yule log, the history of Christmas trees, cards, mistletoe, holly and more. And if that wasn't enough, you will get to visit with Jolly Old St. Nick himself and you can even have your picture taken with him too!
