An Early 19th-Century Agricultural Fair at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA

Sturbridge, Massachusetts, is home to Old Sturbridge Village, a destination that acts as a living museum, dedicated to the early 19th century way of life. Old Sturbridge Village has a center village, which contains a Knight Store, cider mill, and tavern; a Mill Neighborhood, which houses a working sawmill, gristmill, and carding mill; and the Countryside, where guests can visit the Freeman farm and a blacksmith.
Old Sturbridge Village is open year-round and hosts many events, but the Agricultural Fall Fair in September is perhaps one of the best crowd pleasers. Taking place over the course of two days, this year on the 26th and 27th, visitors are treated to a demonstration of period farm equipment, and taken to the Freeman Farm to see a variety of kitchen gardens and heirloom vegetables. Enjoy typical New England fare while touring the displays in the Center Meetinghouse. The Agricultural Fair is free with admission fee, which is paid at the door.
