It was the site of the Boston Tea Party, was one of the first major cities in America, and is close to where the Pilgrims landed back in the 1620. This makes it one of the most historical places for Americans, especially those with an English background. It also helped set the mood for religious freedom in the United States. Pilgrims Path Pilgrims Path is one of the best tours for the history of Plymouth rock and the Pilgrims settlement in the New World. You can go visit the rock where the Pilgrims landed and visit a couple other tours while you are there if you want to pay for their admission. They have the Splashdown Duck, which goes in water and on land for an interesting tour, or you can go on the Pilgrim Belle, a paddle wheel ship tour that will give you a taste of what it was like to sail to the New World. You will board the USS Constitution, the oldest and most famous American war ship, and go for a 45 minute cruise that stops in the Charlestown Navy Yard, where you can get off and tour for a while and get back on the Constitution on one of its later cruises.
