Established in 1946, the Gulfport Little Theater is the brainchild of Ethelynd Baxley, a Gulfport resident who founded the theater as a platform for artists to showcase their talent, and also provide opportunities to up and coming talent to venture into the field of the performing arts.
Today, fifty years after the Gulfport Little Theater hosted its first performance, visitors can view eleven scintillating performances in genres as diverse as comedies to musicals. The Theater also conducts auditions onsite, which allow aspiring actors their first break into professional theater. The theater also hosts fundraisers to support local charities from time to time.
Children can showcase their talents via the Showbiz Kidz program, which features spectacular renditions of popular Disney classics like Aladdin and Mulan and even participate in the annual talent show which is conducted in here. The Gulfport Little Theater also conducts workshops and summer camps for children to hone their theatrical aspirations. The theater also has a scholarship program to encourage and support young performers and is also host to the annual Community Theater Award. You can also register as a member of the Gulfport Little Theater which will allow you admission to the regular theater performances and also the various events and activities that are conducted here from time to time.
