During the ultimate sailing lesson, the Basic & Advanced Sailing Course Combo, students will learn everything they need to know about sailing methods, and then be able to practice their techniques while out on the water. By combining classroom and on-the-water instruction, North Star's Sailing Lessons optimize both the learning curve and the fun factor!

North Star Sailing Coastal Navigation Class

Come with Captain Roger Buenzow aboard the Polaris, a 31-foot fully-equipped sailing vessel, to learn all the tenets of coastal navigation. As every sailor knows, a successful voyage begins with careful planning and proper navigational technique. During the North Star Coastal Navigation Course, students will receive handouts and Navigation Tools during 12 hours of in-depth classroom instruction, before heading out to the Gulf of Mexico for four hours of navigating practice. Sailing between barrier islands among swimming dolphins provides a beautiful and unforgettable backdrop for learning perfect coastal navigation techniques.

General Cruise Details:

• Coast Guard-licensed Captain Roger Buenzow ensures the safety and comfort of each passenger.
• See schedule for exact dates and times.
• Views include the Biloxi Channel, historic Biloxi Lighthouse, Gulf of Mexico, Mississippi Sound, barrier islands, marine life such as dolphins and the brown pelican, and nearby fishing and shrimping boats.
• Dinner is available between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the boat, but is not included in the ticket price. If you are interested in purchasing dinner, you will need to contact North Star Sailing at least 24 hours prior to you departure time.
• Cruise itinerary times are customized for each charter party to meet individual needs, interests and schedules.
• Comfortable dress is recommended: soft-soled shoes are preferable; for fall and winter cruises, a sweater or jacket is recommended.
• Cameras and video cameras are permitted.
• Passengers may bring their own beverages on-board.
• If the captain judges that weather is not suitable for a cruise, charters may be rescheduled; if an alternate date is not possible, a full refund will be issued. (NOTE: Refunds cannot be issued for food.)

• Ample free parking is available at the small craft harbor.
• Charter cruises are appropriate for all ages.
