With its established popularity with artists and diverse collection of galleries, studios, rowhouses, and businesses, Station North was the first area in Baltimore to receive the state designation as an arts and entertainment district. With the goal of supporting artists and cultural organizations, the District has already created a vibrant neighborhood of arts venues, restaurants, and clubs.
The District is anchored by the historic Charles Theatre, a popular movie house for art films, and by the Charm City Art Space which serves as a music venue, concert hall, and art gallery. Other must-see attractions are the Everyman Theatre, the Intercultural Museum Art Gallery, and the Load of Fun Galerie, which is a community-based gallery featuring emerging artists. To get the full artsy vibe that is fast developing in the District, visitors should head to the art deco Club Charles, a popular funky nightspot.
