The Baltimore Museum of Industry invites visitors to relive Maryland's important contributions to the Industrial Revolution through interactive and hands-on exhibits of machining, printing, garment-making, and metal working. Creative dioramas let visitors walk through scenes like the 1910 Bunting Pharmacy where Noxema was invented and an 1886 bank building.
The Maryland Milestone Wall chronicles local inventions including the disposable bottle cap, typesetting machines, and modern radar. Other highlights of the Museum include the original 1865 Platt Oyster Cannery, the only surviving cannery building in Baltimore; the USS Baltimore, the only operating steam tugboat on the East Coast; and the 1937 Mini-Mariner which was the flying prototype of the World War II flying boat bomber. The Museum also offers educational programs and family activities.
