Daily tours of Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum in Baltimore, MD
When one seeks an authentic experience of African American Maritime history, they should go no further than the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park, in Baltimore, Maryland, where daily tours are scheduled Tuesday thru Saturday, from 10am to 5pm.
The park is approximately 5000 square feet in size, contains galleries that are fully interactive. Visitors will view a short film at the Orientation theater, highlighting the lives of Mr. Frederick Douglass and Mr. Isaac Myers and the available exhibits in the park. They will then participate in hands-on activities such as operating an 1800???s mechanical device that pulls boats onto land, assemble a boat, take in the spectacular views of Baltimore Harbor, learn about the nearby Chesapeake Marine Railway and Dry Dock Company, as well as the Sugar House.
Visitors will also be able to explore the immediate surroundings area that is full of historical residential and commercial buildings with an original and if not unique architectural style.
