Shopping in Baltimore, MD

From boutique stores to craft markets, Baltimore offers a wide range of shopping options. Whether you are looking to snatch some deals at the Inner Harbor or longing to browse the antique shops on Howard Street, we cover all of the basics to ensure you'll be apprised of everything you need to know to enjoy a day of shopping.

Shopping Centers and Outlet Malls

On York Road alone you will find 14 shopping centers as well as two shopping malls. Towson Town Center is the largest shopping mall in the Baltimore area while White Marsh features two large malls. When it comes to outlet shopping, the Eastern Shore is the best place to visit where you will find a wide array of different outlet malls.

Markets and Stalls

Baltimore is home to a number of nostalgic covered markets where vendors offer everything from baked goods to seafood and sweets.

Village of Cross Keys

An upscale shopping center that offers several chain stores including Williams-Sonoma and Talbot's. Located on Falls Rd.

Inner Harbor Shopping

Everything from diamond rings to onion rings is on display in the Inner Harbor, where you can browse 160 shops. There are three separate venues in the Harborplace including two stand alone pavilions on Pratt and Light streets and the Gallery, which is a vertical mall found in the atrium at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel.

Light Street Pavilion offers a variety of restaurants and food stalls as well as some great souvenir shops. In Pratt Street Pavilion you will find a wide variety of specialty stores as well as jewelry shops and clothing boutiques. Three floors of shops are on display at the Gallery along with a fourth floor that is dedicated to a food court. Most of the shops in the Inner Harbor are open from 10am to 9pm on Monday through Saturday and from 11am to 7pm on Sunday.

Generally, the shops at the Inner Harbor are franchises of national chains; however, you will also find quite a few that are of the local variety. White House/Black Market is a national chain but the original flagship store is located inside the Pratt Street Pavilion. From the Pratt Street Pavilion you can cross a skywalk to the Gallery.

Howard Street Antiques

The 800 block of Howard Street is commonly known as Antique Row and once you arrive you will see why it has earned this nickname. Not only does the district offer a tremendous amount of fun shopping opportunities but if you are a history buff you will certainly enjoy the historical element of the block as well. Antique shops first opened on the street as far back as the 1840s; although at the time most of the shops were really resellers of furniture. As a result, Antique Row is the oldest antique district in the country. Most shops open around 11am and remain open until 5pm. Be aware the street parking is metered.

Amos Judd and Sons, Inc. is a great place to stop by if you are looking for jewelry as well as antique lighting. You can find just about anything you might be looking for at Antique Row Stalls; a large co-op. Connoisseur's Connection also offers a wide variety of wares as well as some pieces that are from movies produced in the local area. For fine 18th and 19th century furniture be sure to visit E.A. Mack Antiques.
